The constraint

A jobs board lives or dies on two things. Nurses need to find the right shift in the right city in under a minute, and hospitals need to believe their listing is reaching real candidates before they pay for it. Neither side will tolerate a general purpose board with nursing bolted on.

02

What most people would have built

A WordPress job plugin, a search box, and a payment button. That gets a board online in a week and then fails on the two things that matter: search that understands nursing, and an employer side worth paying for. RN411 is a custom built SaaS instead, with its own data model, its own billing and its own admin.

03

Every role here is a nursing role

RN, LPN, CNA and advanced practice positions across the United States, filtered by specialty, location, salary, and the six employment types nurses actually work, per diem and travel included. The board is narrow on purpose. A nurse should never scroll past a role that is not for a nurse.

Two front doors

Employers and job seekers arrive at the same site with opposite needs, so the entry point asks which one you are before anything else. Employers get posting, candidate profiles and the resume database. Nurses get search, profiles and alerts. Neither sees the other side's clutter.

Paying for it

Four employer plans, from a single standard listing to an unlimited monthly subscription, with a job pack in the middle that carries most of the volume. Each plan is a set of entitlements the listing engine checks, not a label, so what a plan promises and what it grants cannot drift apart.

Trust signals that are real

Featured employers are hospitals with live listings, not logos. Every posting shows its age in days. Expiry is enforced, so a nurse never applies to a role that closed a month ago and an employer never pays for a listing that is not showing.

07

What broke

Search. The first version matched on job title and nothing else, which meant a nurse searching for a specialty found nothing while listings for that specialty sat two clicks away. Category and specialty had to become first class filters, not keywords.

08

What it taught us

The founder came to software from nursing. Building the thing she once would have used is a different kind of specification, because the question is never what would be nice to have, it is what a nurse at the end of a twelve hour shift will actually put up with.
